Mr. M and I went shopping the other day. I love the man to death but, like most men, shopping's not really his thing. So, when we go I feel a little flustered. I know he's ready to go home, asking "anywhere else you wanna stop?", even though he's secretly praying to God I've had enough shopping for the day. Needless to say, these are always fairly quick trips that usually result in me not getting anything.
The other day... well, I was looking for some new bras. I have the hardest time finding anything decent in the size I wear unless I go to Victoria's... to pricey to buy them all there. Just can't find them hardly anywhere else. Last stop of the day was Target. There was a cluster of workers in the undergarment section doing some sort of inventory on the bras and Mr. M had that "please God let it be over" look on his face so I excitedly grabbed the first bra I found in my size and got my butt out of there. As I was checking out I noticed something strange on the screen as he scanned my bra. After paying, I checked the receipt and oh yeah..that's what I thought it said. I had bought a nursing bra! 20 steps to customer service, 1 explanation to the embarrassed young man I had to explain myself to, 1 more failed shopping attempt, and a lesson learned..priceless. Major shopping requires female companionship..leave the poor husband at home.

You just might be a redneck.....
You just might be a redneck....
if the door of the truck you're driving is held partially closed with a bungee cord.
Thank god I found the dome override switch so I don't draw attention to my hill billy ass driving down the street, very slowly so the door doesn't bang to much. I'm sure people just think I'm a ditz who doesn't realize I'm driving around with the door open. Damn insurance agent needs to just get here already!

Hell winds
Oh my god this frickin wind!! How is it even possible without the aide of a tornado or some other such natural disaster? I was so careful. Held on to the truck door with all my might while we were out today. Unfortunately, I was no match for that hell wind. It took me along with the door. I'm fine. The door.. well, there was this big crunching noise and then my reflex was to close the door, which it didn't do but then it wouldn't open again either. It's kind of frozen in this in between place and things look bent and obviously not lined up and the paint... oh god. How'd we get home you ask? Well, obviously after being defeated by the devil winds I had to bring in the big guns. Mr. M had to hold it shut... well, semi closed... the duration of the trip. That wind... it's now on my hit list.

Happy Birthday Nugget
Well, it finally happened. My baby has reached the double digits. Yesterday, my little baby Nugget turned 10. He tells me he feels the same and after checking his height he informed me that he hadn't grown since turning 10 either. I tell you what, I feel different. I even had a slight melt down where I let thoughts of having another baby drift into my traumatized brain. After doing the math... I'd be in my 50's when he or she graduated high school, and considering the trouble of going through a redoing of the undoing I had done after the Nugget was born, I've decided that more babies isn't something I should be dreaming of. I have such issues...
So anyway... considering it was on a week night, there weren't a whole lot of options other than the obvious choice of Chuck E. Cheese's. Nugget wanted to go but was a little concerned he was too old. After promising not to tip anyone off at the big Cheese that it was his day of birth, we went. You know, you are never to old for Chuck E. Cheese's. There were a few things they could no longer do, but there was plenty that you could never out grow. It was a blast.
And now I share with you a few shots from the blessed day my baby became... well, no longer a baby....

Can you feel the love?
.jpg)
I don't care how commercial people say Valentine's Day has become... I love it. For anyone who thinks it's anything less than a special day to show the one you love how much you really do, I'll be sending the chubby little cherub over to your house to remove that stick from your butt and to insert an arrow of love into your heart. No that's not a death threat... it's a love threat. So go give someone a hug, tell them you love them, and have a great Valentine's Day!

The no calorie cupcake
Valentine's Day is coming and instead of the same 'ole e-cards we send every year, why not send a virtual cupcake? If you go to http://www.kelly-confidential.com/ you can create and send a cupcake to anyone. The bonus... every time you do, Electrolux will donate $1 to help fight ovarian cancer. You'll also be entered to win a washer and dryer. Better get started... only a few days left!
My nervous Nelly...
Although I'm very happy we've been able to experience such unseasonably beautiful weather lately, I'm really not ready for the return of thunderstorms. Ever read the book "Marley & Me"? That's exactly how Daisy dog behaves when faced with storms. Thunder's the worst but all it takes is a little lightning. Granted, she's never removed the dry wall... can't say the same for the door. The brave little door is still standing after numerous beatings from the frightened pup. It's odd that she would try so desperately to get out to the very thing that scares her to the paws.
Lord, don't let there be even a hint of thunderstorm action tonight. I don't think I'd survive another 4 am wake up call.

Super Bowl
We, along with a billion other people, watched the Super Bowl last night. I'm strictly a Bears fan, so going into it I didn't care one way or the other who came out as champions. My kids, on the other hand, were divided. As they always are when it comes to these things. The Pickle cheering on the Cardinals while Nugget was in full Steelers mode...even dressing the part.

It's pretty exciting to see them getting so into it. They used to get excited about the Super Bowl for the soul reason that there would be snacks a plenty. Now they actually know what's going on, they're screaming and cheering like the best of 'em and the snacks are just an added bonus. They even played a little ball of their own. In the living room. With a stuffed hotdog.

Then there are the commercials. Doritos were hilarious this year. I believe it was Teleflora though who was my favorite.
The 1/2 time show... I did not see. No offense Boss... It wasn't you. Obviously I just couldn't resist the urge to watch former teen idols redeem themselves.
What a game it was. Up to the very end we were on the edge of our seats unsure who was going to win. I found myself rooting whole heartedly for the Steelers. They did not disappoint. Not sure how or when it happened but at some point over the last few years I've become quite in love with football. Can't wait 'til next season!
